Grant Bulltail Oral History Collection
At Utah State University’s Fife Folklore Archives, I collaborated with Grant Bulltail on descriptive metadata for his Apsáalooke oral history collection, including texts, notebooks, photographs, and video.
Collection materials
As an intern with Utah State University’s Fife Folklore Archives, I created metadata spreadsheets for bound and unbound texts, handwritten and typed notebooks, photographs, and video content related to the collection. The collection included more than 1,500 hours of video.
Donor collaboration
I collaborated with donor and National Endowment for the Arts award recipient Grant Bulltail to develop Iwaalawiloxhbaka, How We Lived: The Grant Bulltail Apsáalooke Oral History Collection. The work included travel to Crow Agency, Montana, to interview Grant about the metadata we created.
Presentations and outreach
The project extended into professional outreach, including a presentation about the collection at the Utah Library Association in fall 2020. My internship also included sharing the Cowboy Poetry Collection at the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko, Nevada, in January 2020.

Related experience
The collection work took place from summer 2019 through summer 2022 as part of my Special Collections and Archives internship at Utah State University.
